There are endless reasons to plan a Breckenridge elopement. It’s super close to Denver, accessible year-round, has swoon-worthy landscapes, and so much more!
As a Colorado elopement and wedding photographer, I adore any chance I get to photograph elopements or weddings in Breckenridge – you simply cannot beat the gorgeous scenery and mountain views that Breckenridge offers!
Read on to discover seven magical Breckenridge elopement locations!
The great thing about Breckenridge is that not only are there several amazing locations in Breckenridge, but also nearby in quintessential mountain towns such as Frisco!
Here’s a round-up of my favorite places to elope in Breckenridge and close by:
The Lodge at Breckenridge is perfect for an elopement or micro wedding. They offer specific elopement packages, which includes rental of their deck.
Their deck is an incredible spot to say “I do,” as enchanting mountain views’ll surround you and have total privacy. Also, the lodge is on a cliffside overlooking the Breckenridge Ski Resort, and it’s just a quick drive away from historic Main Street Breckenridge.
Boreas Pass is a popular location, and for good reason! It’s located in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado, near Breckenridge and Como. It has beautiful mountain views and is filled with trees and endless golden fields. Also, if you don’t want to worry about hiking on your wedding day here, it won’t be a problem—you can easily access Boreas Pass by car.
Hoosier Pass is a private and secluded spot at the high point of Highway 9 between Breckenridge and Fairplay. This high mountain pass is open year-round and offers an abundance of wilderness, mountains, lakes, and alpine evergreen trees, creating an unforgettable backdrop for your celebration.
Another plus is that you won’t have to hike far to access beautiful views!
Loveland Pass is easy to access and includes epic hiking trails and gorgeous mountain views. You don’t need a permit to elope here with a small group. Also, while this location can get crowded at times, there is plenty of space to find a sense of seclusion with unparalleled backdrops for your photos.
Loveland Pass is 75 minutes from Denver International Airport. Due to its high elevation, this location can get super cold, so I recommend it in late June-October. Loveland Pass creates a romantic and scenic atmosphere.
It’s also close to other popular spots like Dillon and Breckenridge that you and your partner can explore together.
Sapphire Point is near Dillon, Colorado, and is open year-round. This scenic location looks out over the Dillon Reservoir and the Gore and Tenmile mountain ranges. The beautiful mountain towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, and Frisco are also nearby.
This location can accommodate up to 30 guests and charges a $120 usage fee for a 3-hour slot. However, as incredible as this location is, it is also a super popular spot that can be overcrowded, and it is not exclusive to you and your guests.
New strict rules require groups to utilize a shuttle, as parking is extremely limited with no overflow parking!
The Frisco Overlook is in The Frisco Adventure Park. This beautiful overlook site is also in the National Forest of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and you’ll have the gorgeous Tenmile Mountain Range as your backdrop.
The Frisco Overlook features a wooden platform where you can have your ceremony and provides up to 120 chairs for your guests. They also provide a PA System and generator and will assist you with setting up and tearing down all the items I’ve listed here.
If you are a resident, you can rent the venue Sunday-Thursday for $150 per hour or Friday-Saturday for $200 per hour. If you aren’t a resident, the venue will cost you $250 per hour Sunday-Thursday and $300 per hour to use Friday-Saturday.
Officer’s Gulch is a secluded, intimate, and hidden mountain gem in Colorado! It’s accessible year-round, but each season offers you something totally different.
Also, if you plan to elope here, you’ll have breathtaking mountain views, alpine scenery, a lake, and meadows as the backdrop for your celebration. It’s also right off of I-70, making it super easy to get to by car and very accessible!
You’ll also encounter stunning scenery without having to worry about doing a long, strenuous hike to access the best spots. Want to see what an elopement here looks like and more info about eloping at Officer’s Gulch? Go here!
If all of this has captured your attention, here’s a behind-the-lens look at Caroline and Tanner’s beautiful summer elopement in Breckenridge to give you a better idea of what your own celebration here could look like:
“Tanner and I met almost 6 years ago at school and continued to date long-distance for 5 years after that during college! Our relationship has spanned Oklahoma, Chicago, New Mexico, and even Dublin. Our first date consisted of tacos, ice cream, and a long walk. I was charmed by him. As for our most interesting date- I’d say Meow Wolf in Santa Fe or Sluggers, a batting cage bar in Chicago!” – Caroline
“In September, Tanner picked me up for a ‘mystery’ date, then drove me three hours away to Bentonville, AR. He then recreated a beloved date of ours- we went for coffee, then to a museum, ate an amazing dinner, and then he proposed to me in front of a beautiful glass chapel in a secluded, wooded area. In my shock, I eloquently uttered the words “Uh.. Yeah!!!!” when he asked me to marry him. I figured it was happening, and was anxiously anticipating it all day.” – Caroline
Caroline and Tanner planned a gorgeous June elopement in Colorado. They started their day in Breckenridge and then had their ceremony in Frisco, which by the way is only 15 minutes away from Breckenridge!
To start the day, I headed to their rental in Breckenridge to capture their getting-ready photos, first look, and private vows together. At the Breckenridge rental, it was just Caroline, Tanner, and Caroline’s parents.
One of my favorite parts of their elopement was Caroline’s heartfelt and emotional look with her father, and then Tanner taking Polaroid pictures of her when they had their first look together!
Tanner and Caroline shared private vows on their rental’s deck, and the Colorado rain held off so they had a stunning mountain backdrop as the setting for this beautiful moment between the two of them. The top of the mountains was still covered in snow, adding a magical touch to their celebration.
We then all headed to the Frisco Adventure Park, which has a reverse deck near the park and is where Tanner and Caroline planned their ceremony. For Tanner and Caroline’s elopement ceremony, they invited 20 of their closest and dearest friends and family members to celebrate with them. Everyone was so excited to celebrate with these two – you could tell how much love there is for this couple.
After the ceremony, we grabbed some family and guest portraits before just Caroline, Tanner, and I headed to the gorgeous Officer’s Gulch to capture some stunning couple portraits to conclude their incredible elopement!
I hope you found this overview on incredible Breckenridge elopement locations helpful and maybe even just discovered your dream elopement spot! No matter where you choose to elope in Breckenridge, I know that your celebration will be breathtakingly beautiful – in a place like Breckenridge, how could it not be?
